3 Top Speed Honda Motorcycles

Author : Rahul

Honda motorcycles make up three of them. Just because they have the top speed in the touring category, doesn't mean they are the fastest. These are only the ones with the top speed on the speedometer, not necessarily the fastest time for getting up to top speed.

1. VF 1000 F 2 1987

These Honda motorcycles were touring bikes and had top speeds of 144.2 miles per hour. With V4 engines and 100 horsepower at 9500 rotations per minute, it's easy to see why these Honda motorcycles have the top speed. They have a liquid cooling system and a chain type final drive transmission. They weigh 610 pounds with all fluids included. These Honda motorcycles had dual disc front brakes and single disc. A fuel capacity of 6.08 gallons make this a good motorcycle to take a long ride on. Even with all that speed behind it, on the consumer rating, these Honda motorcycles only scored 64.5 out of 100.

2. VF 1000 F 2 1986

These Honda motorcycles faired slightly better in the consumer ratings with a score of 70.5 out of 100. The specifications are much the same as the 1987 model. These Honda motorcycles had a Double Overhead Cam fuel control the same as the 1987 model . As far as the specifications are concerned, the 1987 and the 1986 Honda motorcycles are exactly the same. Where the main difference seems to be is in the design. In the design and look, the 1986 model scored more then 15 points higher then the 1987 model and more then 6 points better then the 1987 model in racing track abilities. In repair and maintenance costs, the 1986 model scored 18 points better. The only thing the 1987 model did better in was its touring capabilities in which the 1987 model scored 2.3 points better then the 1986 model.

3. ST 1100 Pan-European STD and CBS-ABS with TCS 2000

These Honda motorcycles had a top speed of 142.3 miles per hour. They scored better then the VF 1000 F 2 models making 79.9 out of 100. These Honda motorcycles also had V4 engines. They had 100 horsepower at 7500 rotations per minute. This model had an electric starter, liquid cooling system, and a 5-speed gearbox. Its dry weight is 632.7 pounds, and a seat height of 31.5 inches. The front brakes are dual disc while the rear brakes are single disc. The colors include red or blue. This was truly a touring motorcycle. Its had a capacity for 7.4 gallons. For reliability and problem free driving, these Honda motorcycles scored 93. Its off road capabilities was only a 39.2, however, this was the only thing that these Honda motorcycles scored less then average when compared to other touring motorcycles. These Honda motorcycles made a 96.1 in their touring capabilities, the average touring capabilities for other touring bikes was 78.6.

Honda's Great Gas Mileage Blunder

Author : Rahul

From its inception has been more concerned with and emissions than any other manufacturer. This has been evident since Honda entered America's automobile market in 1971 with the "n600." This was a 2-cylinder car that easily achieved 45 miles-per-gallon. They have repeatedly had at least one model of automobile, per generation that has superior gas mileage. These range from the CVCC, the CRX HF, the VX, and most recently the Insight Hybrid.

In the last decade, however, Honda appears to have departed its small car and gas mileage roots in search of bigger profits. The change coincides with the death of Soichiro Honda, the founder of Honda Automotive. When Soichiro Honda died in 1991, an observable change in Honda's business model and priorities surfaced.

With the change of priorities, the economical cars by which Honda was known vanished, only to be replaced by giant, vans, SVUs, and luxury cars that would make our grandparents jealous. The company that was once known for making "those little cars" became the company that made "those big cars." The new Honda appeared to be in direction opposition of what the old Honda was about.

When Honda was busy making giant money-makers, Toyota decided to take a chance and develop something truly amazing: the full-sized hybrid. While Honda later followed suit with a smaller commuter vehicle, it was too late. Toyota had the hearts and minds of people who cared about fuel economy, emissions, and safety. The name Honda reminded people of the giant Odyssey, or the once small but now large Civic. Toyota, on the other hand, sparked images of the clean, efficient Prius and the all electric RAV4.

Honda is now trying to clean up its image, by producing a version of the Civic that runs on natural gas, and even introducing the first commercially available hydrogen-powered vehicle. While these are all giant steps in the right direction, Honda still has a long way to go to make up for a decade of bad decisions.

Honda jumping on the big car bandwagon proved to be a mistake, one which has affected Hondas market share ever since. Profits may be up, but consumer confidence is down, at least compared to Toyota. The history and good name of Honda will definitely help it get back on top of the efficiency game, assuming that they still want the honor. It will prove difficult, however, to win the back the hearts and minds of people after such a disappointing blunder.

The Evolution Of The Honda Accord

Author : Rahul

The first generation Honda Accord was launched in 1976 as a two-door hatchback with 68 horsepower (51 kW), a 93. Honda chose the name Accord, reflecting "Honda's desire for accord and harmony between people, society and the automobile. It has achieved considerable success, especially in the USA, where it was the best-selling Japanese for 15 years (1982-97), and became the first Japanese-branded vehicle to be manufactured in the US. The Accord became the first Japanese car to be produced in the US in 1982, when production commenced in Marysville, Ohio at Marysville Auto Plant where cars were produced and exported back to Japan. The Honda Accord has been sold in most automotive markets throughout the world. The European Honda Accord, also made in Sweden, became very different from its cousins in terms of styling, and was also shorter than the JDM and USDM Accords.

The Car

The Accord was originally planned to be a V6-powered car with a long hood and sporty pretensions. Vastly improved quality control, however, made this one of the most reliable cars on the US market, a position it still holds today. This was one of the first US production cars to feature optic reflectors with completely clear lenses on the headlamps replacing the more conventional sealed beam styled lighting. A little-known fact about the 1998 Accord was that it was assembled in New Zealand at the very end of overall New Zealand CKD car production (due to changes in tariffs for car importation in that country). Now a vastly different car to the worldwide Accord, the North American model grew larger still, gaining more interior room and weight than its international counterpart. The American Accord was only available in sedan and coupe form, becoming the largest Accord to date

The Next Generation

For the first time, Honda offered an "enthusiast" version of the Accord in the US, adding a sports and mating the 6-speed manual from the Acura CL to the V6 Honda Accord Coupe. Modernizing both the interior and exterior, the second generation Accord was mechanically very similar to the original, using the same 75 hp (56 kW), 1751 cc EK1 CVCC engine. Honda introduced the Insight, America's first hybrid vehicle still the leader, in December 1999. Honda then took hybrid technology into the mainstream with the introduction of the Civic Hybrid in March 2002.

The 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid, in only its second model year received a number of improvements including exterior updates to further differentiate the Accord Hybrid from other Accord Models. Honda presented to the world the exciting Accord Tourer Concept and the new generation of Honda diesel engines, i-DTEC at the 2007 Frankfurt motor show. In 2008 the Honda Accord was completely redesigned, boasting more power and passenger space. In real-world use, however, the car's fuel economy was disappointing and people balked at its higher price.

In Conclusion

In reviews, it has been found that the latest Honda Accord continues to excel as a family sedan or midsize coupe. Consumers interested in a Honda Accord but limited to a smaller budget could also check out the fourth-generation Accord, which was available starting in 1990. However, the Accord has matured into a larger car now approaching the likes of the Ford Taurus, but is still given "compact" status. Honda sold the North American Accord in a few other markets including Asian (now made in Thailand), Middle Eastern, Caribbean, Australian and New Zealand markets with mixed results.

When examined from a holistic standpoint, it's easy to see why this Honda car has become an automotive icon and one of our editors' top recommendations.

The New Honda Civic Parts

Author : Rahul

Realizing automobile engineering dreams since 1948, the Japanese automaker Honda has been offering multitudes of quality auto parts and services. One of the classic examples of the Japanese expertise in the world of automobile is the Honda. This compact car not only boasts of quality engine performance but also brags about the Honda Civic parts and accessories. Literally starting small as it debuted as a two-door coupe, the Honda Civic line was later on improved to be a three-door hatchback model. It has continued to evolve into the top-of-the-line, present-day Honda Civic since it was introduced in the market in July of 1972. The earlier models were equipped with such as the basic AM radio, rudimentary heater, two-speed wipers, and painted steel rims with a chromed wheel nutcap. Back then, the chassis of those vehicles were still geared with Honda Civic parts like the 1169 cc engine and the 1170 cc engine. Base Honda Civic models at present, however, now boast of a more powerful 1.8-liter 16-valve engine that can produce a staggering 140-horsepower. This new vehicle is not just powerful; the fuel efficiency system of the Honda Civic makes it friendlier to the environment as well.

Through years and years of rigorous development, Honda Civic continues to be loved by Honda customers. It even managed to emerge as the second-longest running nameplate from a Japan-established automaker in Northern America. AS the clamor for the Honda Civic pushed the company to significantly improve the model, new components and Honda Civic parts accessories were designed to make the line perform even better. From the much simple version of the 1970s, Honda Civic evidently became more luxurious. Its current models are now equipped with top-of-the-line Honda Civic parts like the satellite-linked navigation, a six-speed manual transmission, power locks, and power windows.

The special features added in the eighth and latest generation of the Honda Civic are not only the things to watch for. The company also devised new Honda Civic parts accessories to the now curvy-shaped model. The leather, all-season floor mats, splash guards, and cargo net, are just among those new enhancements to look forward to. These premium Honda Civic parts accessories do not only promise a totally blissful driving experience but also promise a sleek and stylish car. Easily available among and service outlets, they are sure to give delight and comfort to new and upgrading Honda users.
